HootSuite have been working hard! They have created a HootSuite App Directory. This is a group of extensions and apps that HootSuite users can add to their dashboard.
I have just installed and tested 3 of the apps. I am a heavy Hootsuite user, so it was nice to give these a whirl. I installed the YouTube, Tumblr and the Flickr app.
Here is a short summary of what you can do with some screenshots.
YouTube app
With this app I can now upload new videos and view my existing subscriptions while in Hootsuite. I can also search YouTube and add comments all while using Hootsuite desktop (not mobile versions).
Tumblr app
With the Tumbr app, I can create new blogs (text and photo) and look at my Tumblr dashboard, while in Hootsuite. I can add a new blog with a title, description and tags, however, I cannot schedule them, just post now.
There is limited formatting available, but good enough to get a quick blog tumbled off the conveyor belt. In the Tumblr dashboard, I can reblog and share posts from the bloggers I am following. This sharing is via the Social media accounts that I have already set up in Hootsuite.
Flickr app
Â
With the Flickr app in Hootsuite desktop, I can view contacts, search and view my photos. I can also upload with title, description, tags, and choose my privacy level.
Give one of the HootSuite apps a try!
Slideshare and DISQUS are just two of the up and coming apps!
Give me your opinion if you have installed one or two!
